Meet Our Team
Passionate educators and industry veterans who bring real SQL experience into every lesson
Our Teaching Philosophy
We believe learning SQL shouldn't feel like memorizing a dictionary. Real understanding comes from working with actual database scenarios, solving problems you'll encounter in your career, and having instructors who've been there themselves.
Each member of our team has spent years working directly with databases in Taiwan's tech industry. We know which SQL concepts matter most because we use them every day.
- Real-world experience drives our curriculum
- Hands-on practice beats theory every time
- Personal mentorship throughout your journey
- Industry connections that open doors
Elena Kowalski
Founder & Lead SQL Instructor
Elena moved to Taiwan in 2019 and discovered how much the local tech scene needed practical SQL education. After managing databases for three major Taiwanese companies, she started Connectumind to bridge that gap.
Leadership That Gets Results
Industry-First Approach
Our curriculum comes directly from real database challenges Elena and our team have solved in Taiwan's financial and e-commerce sectors. No textbook theory here.
Personal Investment
Elena personally reviews every student's progress and adjusts learning paths based on individual goals. She still codes daily and brings fresh insights to each class.
Connected Learning
Through Elena's professional network, our graduates often connect directly with hiring managers at companies actively using the SQL skills we teach.
Continuous Evolution
Our team meets monthly with industry partners to ensure our curriculum reflects current database trends and employer needs in Taiwan's market.
Specialized Expertise Areas
Our instructors bring deep knowledge from different database environments, giving you exposure to various SQL implementations and real-world scenarios
Database Architecture
Understanding how databases actually work under the hood helps you write better queries. Our team includes former database administrators who can explain the "why" behind SQL best practices.
Data Analysis
SQL becomes powerful when you know how to extract insights. Our analysts teach you to think like a data detective, finding patterns and stories in complex datasets.
Business Intelligence
Making data useful for business decisions requires understanding both SQL and business context. Our BI specialists bridge that gap with practical reporting techniques.
Performance Optimization
Slow queries can kill applications. Learn from our performance experts who've optimized databases serving millions of users across Taiwan's tech ecosystem.
How We Actually Teach
Project-Based Learning
You'll work with datasets from real Taiwanese businesses - anonymized but authentic. By graduation, you'll have a portfolio of actual SQL solutions.
Mentorship Pairing
Each student gets paired with an instructor for weekly one-on-one sessions. These aren't just Q&A - they're strategic career conversations.
Industry Immersion
Regular guest speakers from companies like PChome, Cathay Financial, and local startups share what SQL skills matter most in their environments.
Collaborative Problem-Solving
Work in small teams on database challenges that mirror real workplace scenarios. Learn to communicate technical solutions clearly.
Ready to Learn from Practitioners?
Our next cohort begins in August 2025. Small class sizes mean you'll get the individual attention you need to master SQL fundamentals and advanced techniques. Applications open in March 2025.
